Restarting in march 2016 7×7 is now run every 7 weeks in the Capital – here is your opportunity to gain awareness of Wellington’s stealth innovators and connect with thought leaders from a wide range of the city’s sectors.
7×7 aims to break down silos and trigger the network effect, celebrating what’s already happening in Wellington, with the broader community and helping to accelerate those successes. Shining spotlights into the shadows and highlighting Wellington’s hidden talent, 7×7 is about generosity and our ability to help each other shine.
Innovation is both cultural and contextual, and Wellington has a unique position as one of New Zealand’s innovation engines. It is for everyone to discover, enjoy and participate.
7×7 was launched in 2000 with a focus on technology, entertainment and design. Brian Sweeney, Chairman of international communications consultancy, SweeneyVesty was inspired when he saw a speaker receive a standing ovation after delivering a 7-minute presentation at a TED Conference. Together with filmmaker Jan Bieringa he developed the forum. After an eight-year hiatus 7×7 has returned to Wellington, starting in March 2016 to deliver a concentrated mix of new ideas, success stories and provocations.
