Creative HQ is delighted to announce CEO Stefan Korn’s appointment to Callaghan Innovation’s Stakeholder Advisory Group by Science and Innovation Minister Steven Joyce, along with the appointment of The Icehouse CEO Andy Hamilton.
Callaghan Innovation is the government agency that helps businesses succeed through technology and R&D in New Zealand. The Stakeholder Advisory Group connects the Callaghan Innovation Board with commercial/academic stakeholders in order to access a wide range of expertise, technologies and investment from innovation partners across the country.
Stefan’s appointment to the Advisory Group signals the importance Callaghan Innovation has placed on input from the startup and innovation ecosystems of New Zealand. The appointment is also a reflection of the growing importance of Kiwi Startups on New Zealand’s economy and business landscape.
Stefan brings over 10 years’ experience in startup investment, commercialisation and entrepreneurial education to the group. Over the last 5 years, Stefan has been instrumental in creating and growing the New Zealand startup scene, driving business acceleration capability with Creative HQ’s Lightning Lab accelerator. Most recently he and the team at Creative HQ have helped create a global leadership position for New Zealand in Government acceleration and the application of Exponential Organisation principles in Kiwi businesses. Stefan has been heading up Creative HQ since 2013. He is also director of a range of startups, founding investor of Lightning Lab, and an advisor to Inland Revenue for the ICT Reference Group.
Minister Joyce’s media release has been published on and is listed on Callaghan Innovation’s website.
