Founders that are driving social and environmental change
Since 2013, Creative HQ ran 17 accelerator programmes across New Zealand, supporting more than 150 companies and facilitating over $100 million in seed and Series A investment. In 2023, it delivered its first accelerator dedicated exclusively to impact companies, extending this track record into ventures focused on social and environmental outcomes.
The Impact Accelerator was a hybrid programme that supported ventures to develop and test their products in New Zealand before competing globally. Founders received sprint coaching and mentoring, along with connections to government and corporate partners that opened access to markets and resources. The programme concluded with a final showcase, and investment-ready teams were supported to participate in investment showcases across New Zealand and Australia.
“There is no recipe, no rules to creating a successful startup, but the accelerator presents a bunch of the ingredients you need to get there. It creates a great environment to start a business – you’ve just got to make the most of it because you’re there for a very finite period.”
