Code Camp Wellington
Code Camp Wellington is a free annual tech community event that brings developers, tech professionals and curious learners together for a day of inspiration, learning and networking. It features a lineup of excellent local and national speakers sharing insights across a range of topics, from cutting‑edge technologies to career development and community building.
Code Club Aotearoa
Code Club Aotearoa is a nationwide initiative helping young Kiwis discover the world of programming through fun, hands-on learning. The organisation runs free, volunteer-led coding clubs in schools, libraries and community spaces, where children spend an hour each week creating games, animations and simple websites. Game Developers of Wellington
Game Developers of Wellington is one of the key meet‑up communities for people passionate about creating video games and interactive experiences in Te Whanganui‑ā‑Tara. It’s an open, welcoming group that organises meetups, talks and social events for professionals, students, hobbyists and anyone involved in game development, animation/VFX, graphic design or even software engineering with an interest in games.
Genesia Girls
Genesia Girls is a Wellington‑based non‑profit organisation dedicated to promoting and empowering young women and gender‑diverse students in digital technologies. Their mission is to help create a future tech sector that thrives on diverse perspectives and gives young wāhine and gender‑diverse learners the confidence to explore careers in tech fields like coding, game design, 3D modelling, animation and web development. Google Developer Group Wellington
GDG Wellington is a Google Developer Group organised by local technologists with the support of Google for Developers. Kāpiti startup & innovation Network is an emerging, community-driven ecosystem on New Zealand’s Kāpiti Coast that brings together entrepreneurs, creatives and tech professionals to turn ideas into scalable businesses. Matamoe Innovation Hub
Matamoe Innovation Hub is a Wellington-based community initiative focused on empowering young people to explore digital technology in a creative and inclusive environment. Based on the Miramar Peninsula, the hub offers free, hands-on STEM programmes where students can experiment with coding, robotics, game development, 3D printing and even emerging technologies like AI and virtual reality. NZ Tech Rally

Summer of Tech
Summer of Tech is a Wellington-based nonprofit that helps bridge the gap between studying technology and starting a career in the industry. Wellington New Zealand Salesforce Trailblazer Community group welcomes anyone with a connection to or interest in the Salesforce platform to their meetings. Tūhura Tech
Tūhura Tech is a Wellington‑based charitable trust and tech education community focused on empowering rangatahi (young people) across the Wellington region with free, hands-on technology learning opportunities from coding and game development to robotics, cybersecurity, 3D printing and more. Tūhura Tech brings industry mentors and trained kaiako (educators) into schools, libraries, community centres and marae to deliver project‑based sessions tailored to what students are curious about. It’s driven by a mission to remove barriers to tech education, ensuring that age 9–18 learners of all backgrounds can explore technology without cost or access limitations.
Wāhine Fuelled Tech
Wāhine Fuelled Tech is a welcoming and inclusive tech meetup in Wellington that focuses on empowering wāhine and gender‑diverse people in technology, while also being open to allies and anyone curious about tech. The group provides a safe, supportive environment where members can grow their technology skills, explore career paths, build networks and share experiences across a range of tech‑related topics. UX Wellington
UX Wellington is a community-led group that brings together people interested in user experience (UX), design and product thinking in the Wellington region. Known as the local hub for UX practitioners, it hosts regular meetups, talks and social events that explore topics like user research, interaction design and customer experience. The community is intentionally inclusive, welcoming everyone from experienced designers to curious beginners and aims to foster connection, knowledge-sharing and stronger UX practices across Aotearoa.
