Most funding advice online is built for Silicon Valley or Sydney – not the reality of raising in New Zealand. That’s the gap this new guide sets out to close.
“How to Raise a Seed Round in New Zealand: The Operator’s Playbook” is a nine-part guide by Michael Batko – ex-CEO of Startmate and cofounder of Hourglass AI – published through What Founders Want. It’s the same raise curriculum Batko taught inside ANZ’s most active early-stage accelerator, now open to any founder, whether you’re twelve months out from raising or already holding a term sheet.
It goes deep (a 7min read, but worth it!) based on real, lived experience… not theory. As Batko puts it:
“The expensive thing at seed isn’t dilution — it’s 18 months with the wrong partner on your cap table.”
We were glad to lend our support to Lane Litz and Michael Batko in bringing this to the community!
